NOBTS Birmingham Center News and Info

Craig Garrett on Campus: Dr. Craig Garrett, NOBTS Dean of Students will be at the Birmingham Center on Monday November 11th. He will be meeting with focus groups to see how the main campus can better serve extension centers. More info to come.

Greek Flashcard App: Zondervan has released a new Greek flashcard app for the Basics of Biblical Greek curriculum. Cost: $19.99 on the App Store and Android Market. QR Code cards are on the snack table.  

NOBTS Birmingham Center Mission Trip: July 2014, we will take a group of students to do church planting, discipleship, and evangelism in Ecuador. After staying a day at an orphanage in Quito, we will travel to the jungle near Puyo. There we will work with a local church to plant a church in an unreached area. We will offer a 3 hour graduate and a 3 hour undergraduate course around this trip. Approximate trip dates: July 17-25. Approximate trip price: $2000. For more information, contact Stephen Hall at stephenrhall5@gmail.com.

Payment Service Fees: Effective Friday November 15th, the seminary family will still be welcome to use a credit/debit card to pay their account, but those who do will now be charged, by the third party processor, a 2.5% fee for that transaction. If an e-check is used, there is a flat $1.75 per transaction fee that will be charged. The seminary faculty is welcome to pay with cash, check, or money order through the Business Office for no fee at all. Spring 2014 Schedules: The Spring 2014 Tentative Schedule is now up on the Birmingham Center Website. Please note that the schedule has not been finalized and is subject to change. To view click here 

Student ID: If you DO NOT have a student ID please see Zach to get one made. Also if you have a current ID please see Zach to have yours validated for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Chapel: Who would you like to hear speak in chapel? Through the month of October we will be collecting names of students to speak in chapel. Please vote for ONE student by email (bhamasst.nobts@gmail.com) or bring it to the office. Voting ends October 31st. Chapel will be held early in the Spring 2014 semester.

Snack Table: Please remember that all snacks and drinks are 50 cents. Coffee is now $.50 per day. FREE CANDY on the snack table! October 28th only!!!

Youth Pastor: Bay Springs Baptist Church, in Shelby Alabama, is looking for a bi-vocational youth pastor. The youth pastor must be musically gifted and able to work with youth on contemporary music, able to fill the pulpit when needed, enjoying hunting, fishing, and not be afraid of mud. He must be biblically grounded, knowledgeable of apologetics, able to answer the youths’ questions and address their concerns, give leadership and focus to the youth ministry, and function as part of a leadership team that treasures mutual accountability.
